Latviešu valoda nau tik veigli macīties. Mans exāmens bus piektdien. Tādēļ, šodien un katru dienu šonedel, es esmu studejis parāk daudz lai rakstītu šeit. Taču tagad es paņemu pauziti, un varu likt attelu te jums. Baudiet!

Latvian is not such an easy language to learn. I will have a test on Friday. Therefore, today and each day this week, I have studied to much to write here. But now I’m taking a break, so I can put a picture here for you all. Enjoy!

There are a couple blocks in Guatemala dedicated to stores that apparently sell nothing but piñatas - and maybe associated balloons and streamers.

Hey, who doesn't love a piñata? They are de rigeur at any Guatemalan child's birthday party, to the extent that a birthday party is simply called a "piñata," as in, "Sorry we can't be there on Saturday, but we have to take our son to two of his classmates' piñatas this weekend."

We still have a few more sets of Guatemala pictures saved up in the archives, and a few one-off street shots like this one. If you look through the pictures on Flickr tagged "Guatemala," (surely the largest pool of photos in the world on just about any subject) it doesn't seem like many people bother with street photography there. Maybe they're too smart to take their cameras out, or maybe most people don't find the streets of Guate as interesting as our staff photographer did.
